you may need to apply this patch as well... http://lists.php.net/article.php?group=php.pear.dev&article=6408 any plans for pear update (downloads a copy of the remote-list xml file)... so that pear remote-list uses a cache rather than the live result..... -- I also used md5 sums for rpc calls - not sure how that fits in with the current system: eg. on http_get http://pear.php.net/xmlrpc.php "?md5=234abc234234324234" <- in rpc...... if there is not change in the information, just return <nochange/> or something? this would reduce the amount of data needed to be downloaded.. either that or http://pear.php.net/xmlrpc.php "?since=2002:0501" would list all new packages It's just a bit of an overkill to grab the list everytime the applicaiton changes, especially if there have not been any changes.. regards alan Martin Jansen wrote:

while playing around with pear installer I discovered that list-remote-packages doesnt work for me.
It has been renamed to "remote-list": martin@urmel:~ > pear remote-list Available packages: =================== +----------------------+---------+
	| Package              | Version |
	| Archive_Tar          | 0.4     |
	| Auth                 | 1.0.1   |
	| Auth_HTTP            | 1.0     |

	| Crypt_CBC            | 0.3     |

the command: pear list-remote-packages returns no package at all for me.
Can you please try the latest CVS version or a snapshot from http://snaps.php.net/? - Martin
