I'm sure manipulation can be easily done with Date.php, now I'm
searching for a validate method with no success. Any idea how to
validate a date and if a date is in a range with Calc or Date?

Please note that big package != one big class file. For the date
validation I could use checkdate and timestamps for doing the validation
but we have to take the decision if we would like to check dates for
dates out 1970-2038 with no other dependency or use Date/Calc classes
for doing a more heavy but complete validation.
