Hi,
I had a look at your way of doing the Cache and had another
idea.
My way of caching:
$r->call('package.listAll') is extended by passing the date(time)
of our local cache.
The Server saves the date of the last change.
On a clientrequest it responds with 'not changed' or if there were
changes it responds like it does now.
On the client side one could use PEAR::Cache (and Cache_Function)
to handle the Cache.
I do not know which way is easier to implement, and I do not know
which way is faster, but I just wanted to present my way.
Thinking about it I think maybe Alans way is faster AND alans way
does caching on the serverside too, so I think: Alan go for it :)
