PEAR Installer in general is not very fast, PEAR_Frontend_Web adds an additional overhead (templates a.s.o.) and the main thing is, that an XML RPC call to get _all_ packageinformations is called on nearly every request to the WebInstaller ... (I wait for Alan to commit his Caching system ...) Christian Dickmann
