Hi!
I've written an SMB Client (Windows/Samba file sharing) module for
PHP4/Pear. The module uses libsmbclient, which is published under the
GPL.
The FSF site states that the PHP license is incompatible with the GPL
and it should thus be illegal to load GPL'ed DSO's in PHP? The pear
site states that pecl modules can be 'all open source licenses'. That
would include GPL'ed modules. There is also currently a GPL'ed module
(muscat or something) in pear. Does loading GPL'ed modules into PHP
violate the GPL ?
I'm also getting errors when trying to use my smbc.so module. When
statically compiled into PHP there are no problems at all - but when
compiled as a DSO (for pear/pecl) I get the following error when
trying to load it:
Invalid library (maybe not a PHP library)
According to the PHP source, PHP is looking for 'get_module', which
(according to nm) isn't a symbol in smbc.so. How should I get that in
my module?
