I don't know - I haven't enought time to look at it yet.
I can describe how is it done in PLD, because I made it :)
We have there allmoust all classes that are in tgz packages (now this is
~60 rpm packages). Some, which are not present in tgz I take from php
package, but this not good thing. These should be also present as separate
tgz.
We do not use installer from pear, because keeping 2 packaging databases
is not good solution.
All dependencies are made automatically - with a script. Works really
nice. Some packages depend on others and it's not shown in package.xml :)
I'll later send such a description.
