I did some work to prepare pear for autoloading, basically the pear installer would check which constants, functions and classes a file defines and registers this in a dbm file. While it sounds cool, as a programmer I would be mch more confident using "use" to tell which classes I intend to use in a script. Too much autoloading magic may easily get out of hand. - Stig
