The approach is fairly simular, though I seperate the factory to a different class. See SOAP/Transport.php, and look in SOAP/Client.php for where I use it. It shouldn't be too hard to come up with a standardized RPC/Transport mechanism. Shane James E. Flemer wrote:
Well I didn't have time to look into pear::soap, nor look for a standard Transport container (interface). But here is an updated patch anyway (against latest CVS). Please review this and see what you think ... does it look like it would work well with SOAP? Here is a url to the patch, since it's too big to send to the list: http://www.acm.jhu.edu/~jflemer/XML_RPC%2bTransport.diff.txt -James On Thu, 11 Jul 2002, James E. Flemer wrote:

Hmm, I'd like to consider making these pluggable transports work with pear::soap also, and eventualy the php-soap extension. The soap library has pluggable extensions also, probably some minor modifications between teh two systems could centralize that better. Shane
OK. Where is this? (I am on pear-dev now ...) Is there some base class for a general "Transport" container that we should standardize on and use for all of them? -James
