Hi,
someone just explained to me the following issue:
He wants to use MDB's features in some place but is not yet prepared to
make the switch to MDB's API. He is also not yet ready to use one of the
wrappers or there is no wrapper for the connection method he uses to
access the RDBMS.
Following solution:
A factory class whos only purpose it is to reuse the connection
ressources and DSN etc.
Basically it would have a factory for each "connection method":
Like Metabase, PEAR DB, PHPLIB, ADODB etc.
All you would have to do is pass an object and it would grab the
necessary data from that object (dsn, connection etc) and call the MDB
factory and set the data.
If you have used native method to connect then it should also be
possible to reuse that connection.
This might require some method in MDB's core which I will gladly add if
someone writes a class that can do this. So any volunteers?
Regards,
Lukas Smith
