this is the controller class, it uses templates for the output of propfind etc. http://docs.akbkhome.com/akpear/HTML_FlexyFramework_Webdav.html the data model (for directories) is this http://docs.akbkhome.com/akpear/HTML_FlexyFramework_CMS_DataObjects_Topic.html all the webdav* methods are specific to the webdav implementation. the principle being that the controller (webdav), just requests and maniplates the data classes, and uses that to create any output via templates... putting/getting/move/copy mostly work. I had alot of fun working out that representing a single database entry - eg. an article as a seperate summary & body file was a pig to implement using files in webdav - if you rename a file - there is no auto refresh etc. - so I ended up making articles a kind of multiparted html thing.. Have been taking a break from it from the last few days, as I was attempting to build a xul based navtree sidebar in mozilla, theoretically to browse/open in editor the webdav tree.. - not much luck mozilla+xul+javascript its just driving me nuts :)
Note ot add somewhere: Windows web folders sends a PUT with '0' bytes to create the file, then gets it to check it was made, then writes the full data.. - probably worth noting if you implement stuff..
M$ clients do lots of weird stuff have spent about half this week trying to find out stuff like why XP treats folders in DOCUMENT_ROOT different to those deeper in the webserver document hirachy and such some funny things you see while looking at tcpdumps while trying webdav with XP sp1: - connection wizzard uppercases folders under DOCUMENT_ROOT first before trying what you actualy typed if it can be made a 8.3 DOS compliant name
mmh not seen that - I'm mainly testing on win98 in vmware. - still wishing I could find a copy of win95, it was more stable :)
- even if you tell it to mount
    http://example.com/some/path/to/your/davscript.php
it will try to probe
    http://example.com/some
its looking for a frontpage server I think..
first (no other client i used shows this behavior) - when using HTTP basic authentification it may send server.host\\user or client.host\\user instead of the username given to it
mmh not seen that either
- ...
nautilus does some fun things - it really loves keeping connections alive, and complains alot if it looses the connection in a typical send/auth/resend/propfind sequence, that get broken up using tcpbug. also keeps looking for .directory files everywhere. Also cant remember, whether it was nautilus or windows, that forces you to enable webdav headers in apache for the document root, otherwise it will refuse to connect to the server at all.. Results are nice though - doing a browse on an remote image folder in nautilus is fun.. You also might like the mozilla 'edit link in browser hack': http://www.akbkhome.com/news/webdav+mozilla.html Regards Alan
