Hi,
I almost finished a script to add the $Revision$ keyword to all files that
did not have it. I was thinking there were much more files without it. Here
is the last part of script output :
session_pgsql.xml ----> modified
soap.xml ----> modified
spplus.xml ----> modified
Total read files : 1393
Total modified files : 174
Total ignored files : 1
I would like to know :
- Are there files that should NOT be modified (for now the script exclude by
file type)
- I search for existing Revision keyword in the first 2 lines. Is there a
need to search further?
- Is there specific requirements to the line number where the Revision
keyword is inserted? For the moment, the script is not very strict. I assume
that XML files have a first line "<?xml version="1.0"
encoding="iso-8859-1"
?>, then for these files I insert on the second line. For all other files I
insert onr the first line. But I saw some xml files without the <?xml
version...., so for pear-autoloader.xml file, the begining of the files
become :
<sect1 id="core.ppm.pear-autoloader">
<!-- $Revision$ -->
<title>PEAR_Autoload</title>
So if this is needed, rather than selecting files by extension, I can search
for the <?xml version on the first line of each file.
Well, here is an excerpt from PHP documentation HowTO :

As this system gets popular in many translation groups, the automatic build
process also generates a revcheck.html.gz at the beginning of the build
process for that language. It is available online in the languages manual
directory, as build.log.gz is also there. See the Italian translation's file
online: http://www.php.net/it/rev
---
Is this possible to also generate the revcheck.html file automatically
during the build process for each language, so that this tool be easily
available ?

| - It would be nice to automatically add the Revision keyword to all
english
| files that do not have it already. Ford such a script/toll exist ? The
most
| interessant feature of revcheck.php is to quickly see the diff between the
| english translated version and the current one. If the majority of the
| english file don't have it as is is today, the main appeal of this script
is
| very decreased.
