Is there any need for a new volunteer in pear-doc ?
Sure! :)
If yes, where to start ?
What is missing most right now is end-user documentation for most of the packages. As you might have noticed from the recent thread here, we are planning to publish documentation that is based on the API documentation of the packages. However that will not suffice for end-users: What they need, are easy to understand usage examples and extensive explanations.
yes, I know the feeling :D
So if you are using some PEAR packages yourself, that don't have documentation yet, it would be great, if you wrote some documentation for those. If you on the other hand don't use any package, you can of course also write up something for other packages :).
Okay, on the pure PEAR packages I would be glad to start tomorrow on Date and Time (2) Calendar, Date Mail (4) Mail, Mail_Mbox, Mail_Mime, Mail_Queue I use sqlite extensively but I don't see it on the packages list (for PHP4 I fetched it via pear...uhm) Then I can move on with something else provided that what I do is satisfactory. Now, I would need a sample "idea pear package documentation" to be sure on the expected outcomes. I assume the format is the same as php main docs, XML . Regards David Costa
