Hi Gerd, afaik the is nobody currently actively writing German docs. This is crazy, since we have a lot of German speaking devs around - but it's like that. So if you volunteer to do translations for a few packages, you're help is very welcome. Please check out the docs from cvs on cvs.php.net and see if you can get the docs to build at your site locally. Then simply try translating some docs. If you first just translate a few files, you can send the translated ones to me via email and I'll add them to CVS. If you're getting addicted to translation it might be a good idea to sign up for a cvs-account yourself ... no big deal, but takes about 2 weeks.
