Hi
When I first tried to compile the PEAR manual, I thought that openjade hung in an infinite loop as it worked for over 5 minutes without giving a notice that something has been done.
Further it is annoying not to know how far the compile process has gone; so here is a small shell script which displays a (rough) estimation of the current status:
========================
#!/bin/sh
numCurrent=
Attachment: [application/pgp-signature] OpenPGP digital signature signature.asc
ls html | wc -l
numAll=cat chapters.ent | wc -l
percent=$[100*$numCurrent/$numAll]
echo "$numCurrent/$numAll - $percent%"
========================
It takes the number of defined entities in chapters.ent as 100% and lists the number of compiled files in the html/ directory as current number. Now this works only if the files in html/ are deleted before calling "make", but it may help some people :)
Regards/MfG,
Christian Weiske
