New Comment:
This bug has been fixed in CVS.
If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on
pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET).
If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should
be live shortly.
Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release.
Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better.

I'm recategorizing this as a documentation bug, because we should
mention the link posted by Rasmus somewhere in the Installation section
of the manual.

I second this - it's easy to download and install PEAR extensions, but
no clue what on earth to do with all this pecl stuff. Probably real
easy for those who have done it before, but no hints for first timers
here!

Where can I find a manual for installing pecl modules. Because i used
pear to install both tidy and runkit. Both ware installed succesfully.
I've restarted apache, but I'm not able te call functions from either
of the packages.

Description:
------------
It is not clear that you have to use 'pear install', to install pecl
packages. Please state this more clearly on the website.
