I'm trying to use the connect() function on a system that does not store the mysql.sock in the /tmp directory.
connect produces an error message containing among others:
$kdb: db_error Object ( [error_message_prefix] => [mode] => 1 [level] => 1024 [code] => -24 [message] => DB Error: connect failed [userinfo] => [nativecode=Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)]
Is there anything I can do about this other than restarting the mysqld with a different 'socket' option?
Thanks for your attention, Bernd Gliss
