Pear::DB/Location/Error

I get the following when ever I try the connect-disconnect intro at the
following address:
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/package.database.db.intro-connect.php
phpinfo() on the server I am using says this:
'--with-pear'
In the configure command section (PHP Version 4.3.4).
Any ideas? I typed the example word for word, except using my own server
information for all the var's(which are valid I use them daily
w/PHP+MySQL)
