Hi All,
I've been using PEAR on a development server for a few weeks, and find some of the tools
extremely useful - I've now come to get our main server upgraded, and it has PEAR installed
successfully (Note - our server is maintained external to my controls)....
The standard set of PEAR packages are on there, however, I want to add some more, so I typed PEAR
list, and got the list of installed packages.
Then typed:
Pear install Services_Weather
And received the following error:
Warning: mkdir(/usr/local/lib/php/Services): Permission denied in System.php on line 241
syntax error near unexpected token `('
I've then contacted my hosting company, who came back with the following response:
"You need to set some sort of 'working directory' variable as you should not be
trying to write anything to /usr/local/lib/php .
Perhaps you need to use $HOME or something to install the files in your home folder?"
Is there a way I can install, successfully, the PEAR packages without writing to a "wrong"
directory.
Any assistance would be grateful!
Thanks
James
