go-pear

I am running the pear update script from http://go-pear/ and it does not seem to be installing any files. It create the pear dir and test, docs, and data subdirs but they are empty. The output of the end of the script is: Loading zlib: ok Downloading package: PEAR.............ok Downloading package: Archive_Tar......ok Downloading package: Console_Getopt....ok Downloading package: XML_RPC..........ok Bootstrapping: PEAR...................(remote) ok Bootstrapping: Archive_Tar............(remote) ok Bootstrapping: Console_Getopt.........(remote) ok Downloading package: DB...............ok Downloading package: Net_Socket.......ok Downloading package: Net_SMTP.........ok Downloading package: Mail.............ok Downloading package: XML_Parser.......ok Downloading package: PHPUnit-0.6.2....ok Extracting installer..................ok The script seems to be stopping on line 715 $config->store(). I am running RedHat 7.2 with php 4.1.2. Both old I know but it works and is stable. Does anyone have any suggestions on what is going on? Thanks, Truman Lackey
