Hello,
Under WinXP with Apache:
- 2 directories with Apache (here with the same v. 1, but I think it's OK
with either differents versions or 2 v. 2)
- no php.ini in windows or windows/system: one file in each apache dir.,
with specific extension_dir directive
- no php4 or 5ts.dll in windows or windows/system: put it in the same dir
that the dll or exe file of php you use
- ok to put libraries dlls (expat, eay, ...) in windows or windows/system:
use the last release of each one
- in the conf file of each Apache installation, set:
* different ports (80 for php4 and 81 for php 5 for ex.)
* different file name for PidFile directive
* different file name for ScoreBoardFile directive (I am not sure this
last point is needed but...)
- don't use the beta 4: it doesn't work with extension. Use the last build
from http://kromann.info/php5.php
It's ok eitheir as service or at runtime with:
- for php4: "C:\...\Apache_php4\Apache.exe" -f
"C:\...\Apache_php4\conf\httpd.conf"
- for php5: "C:\...\Apache_php5\Apache.exe" -f
"C:\...\Apache_php5\conf\httpd.conf"
I wish I haven't forget anything.
I found some emails on the net (with Google) on the subject, but I don't
remember where. I wasn't very happy with them: they melt the problem with
other considerations. The main help is still Apache and PHP documentations.
Regards
Pierre
