Hello,
If you have PEAR version 1.2.1 installed and plan to upgrade to PEAR 1.3 or PEAR 1.3.1, you must upgrade BOTH Console_Getopt and PEAR at the same time, or your installation will fail.
$ pear upgrade Console_Getopt PEAR
Order is important for PEAR versions earlier than 1.3b3
$ pear upgrade Console_Getopt
$ pear upgrade PEAR
will only bork the command-line installer completely. They must be on the same line.
