changing pears path

Hi all, I got the source of my problem, but I am not sure how to fix it. php.ini, which is located in: /usr/local/php/lib/php.ini shows my include path as: .:/usr/local/php/lib/php When I update my PEAR packages, PEAR updates the stuff that is installed in: /usr/local/lib/php Here is my question. Do I update my php.ini file to look for my PEAR stuff elsewhere, or do I modify the PEAR package manager to start working in the right place? If the later, I don't know how to do that, and would appreciate any help. Thanks
