Hi,
I'm trying to install the SOAP package (my first PEAR installation) and I
have followed the instructions for package installation at
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/instalation.cli.php
using the semi-automatic
installation method (pear install SOAP-0.8RC3.tgz and all it's dependencies)
and got installation successful messages for each. However, looking at the
specific documentation for SOAP there is a different installation method. I
don't want to run this installation method as well as I have already
installed SOAP and it's dependencies, however, I have tried running the
SoapObject() example found on
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/pecl.soap.soapobject.php
only to recieve the
following error message
Warning: dl(): Unable to load dynamic library
'/usr/local/apache/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20020429/soap.so' -
/usr/local/apache/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20020429/soap.so: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory in
/home/******/soaptest.php on line 2 Create client
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: soapobject in
/home/******/soaptest.php on line 4
Which seems to say they have not been installed. I have checked in the
directory /usr/local/.../ and there is no soap.so (surprise surprise!).
So, do I have to install the packages again using the method provided in the
SOAP manual? Do I have to install the other packages as well or just the
SOAP one? Where were the packages installed if they can't be found in the
directory which PHP is obviously trying to find them?
Thanks in advance
Rob
