Hi,
I can't seem t find any docs relating to providing both SOAP and extra data
in one call using the Mime header multipart/related, the concept is
explained here http://www.w3.org/TR/SOAP-attachments. In a spec I
have
received from Amazon it seems they wish us to separate the function calls
(SOAP) from the datasets using this method. Although the datasets will also
be in XML I believe they want it provided this way because the datasets are
going to be pretty huge (entire product database) and, if possible, they
don't want it going through their SOAP parser when it only really needs to
go through a simple XML parser. Regardless, this is how they want it handled
so this is how we must do it. I was just wondering if this is provided with
PEAR::SOAP.
Adam, I notice your article is regarding the Amazon API (but from a
different perspective, we're going to be selling our products through them).
The reason I'm thinking this is how we must provide our product database to
them is from a couple of lines in the doc they provided us with.
<quote>
-All messages sent in either direction contain a "control" section in the
form of a SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) message. SOAP provides a
standardized way of sending messages from one computer to another using XML.
-Data (message payload) is passed as XML
-Control and Data messages are combined using MIME (Multipurpose Internet
Mail Extensions)

Please let me know if you think I've misunderstood.
Thanks in advance
Rob
