Hi, well since I am not subscribed to this list I just want to clarify a few things about this project. #1 it us now called MDB and can be found in pear cvs (during the first couple releases I called it metapear) #2 its feasible :-) #3 I still want to finish it ... there is not much missing before it can be used in production use (mainly incorporating PEAR Errorhandling) #4 it is neither a wrapper around Metabase nor a wrapper around PEAR DB really .. it is heavily based on Metabase with a lot of reformating, renaming and adding of functionality for compliance with PEAR DB and the PEAR CS in general #5 read the README in cvs #6 test it ... give me feedback .. if needed I can make a little package outside of cvs if that gets more people to actually provide feedback, because so far I have gotten really few feedback and none that actually addressed the internals of MDB #7 currently I have a mix of my own db abstraction layer (closed source but not worth the lines (-: ) and a slightly hacked Metabase version (all the features that where hacked in there have made it into Metabase allready .. I need this fixed and MDB is what I want to fix this with :-) #8 I am not on this list ... so don't expect an answer if you don’t include me in your replies #9 In general I have learned a lot from this project when it comes to opensource development. People work on time contraints and therefore focus on their needs. Being it Manuel working on upperclass, Stig and Tomas on the PEAR installer and myself working on some other projects. Anyways I sort of hoped for more concrete feedback for this project. So it goes.
