I am using Pear::Auth for a web application and I have an expiration time set on the cookie, but can't seem to get that expiration time to update when I am on the site. I don't want a session to die if the user is still navigating through the site, only when they have been idle for longer than x # of seconds. Right now, it's as if php removes the session and they are then logged out.
I haven't tracked down whether the session disappears or if the cookie is expiring, but plan on looking further into this. I am not sure why the session isn't updating automatically when a user is logged in, but it doesn't appear to be.
Thoughts?
