[root@linuxcompaq /]# pear config-show
replace 10.1.1.2 with your proxy
[root@linuxcompaq /]# pear config-set http_proxy=10.1.1.2
voila its done. check it with
[root@linuxcompaq /]# pear config-show
better yet just type pear to see all the available options.
