The following applies to Mail_RFC822 version 1.12.
My problem concerns differences between imap_rfc822_parse_adrlist and the PEAR
version. They produce different output to the same input. I am not aware which
is the correct according to RFC822, but for my purposes
imap_rfc822_parse_adrlist produces the most useful output, so I want to ask
if the PEAR module behaves as intended.
Here is the inconsistancy:
parseAddressList('test@here.com, "|/bin/vacation test"', '')
-> output is a PEAR error
imap_parse_adrlist('test@here.com, "|/bin/vacation test"', '')
-> output is an array with these two mailboxes
parseAddressList('mymailbox', '')
-> output is a PEAR error
imap_parse_adrlist('mymailbox', '')
-> output is an array with this mailbox
So the PEAR module doesn't like mailboxes which do not have a domain suffix, and
it does not ignore stuff which is in quotes.
Is it PEAR parseAddressList which is just not suited for these cases? As is
clear, I want it to parse the contents of a .forward-file.
