My DB_DataObject subclasses are always returning 1 on insert()

I'm trying to debug an issue with all of my DataObject classes where they are returning 1 for every insert. I'm on Mac OS X 10.3.3 with PHP 4.3.4 / MySQL 4.0.18-standard / on a dual 1.8 G5.
