I have been asked to develop some software for a company and want to know what kind of license restrictions there are using PEAR packages in my project. Can I use them and still sell the software to this company? Or do I have to write my own to be used?
Yes you can. generally you have nothing to worry as long as you retain the copyright notices, dont hide them from your client and you dont modify the source. Modifying the source can require you to relicense those changes for all packages under the LGPL. Also see this announcement http://pear.php.net/group/docs/20040402-la.php for details Also see www.opensource.org for details on the relevant licenses. regards, Lukas
