If you're using apache you might also need to configure your vhost.conf files
to have the open basedir and include path values. I use this file to have
site specific
include paths so each app can use its own local version of PEAR (so if I
upgrade
packages it does not affect all my projects).
<Directory /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/morchand.com/httpdocs>
php_value include_path
".:/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/morchand.com/private/PEAR:/usr/local/lib/php/Smarty"
php_admin_value open_basedir
"/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/morchand.com/httpdocs:/usr/local/lib/php/Smarty:/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/morchand.com/httpdocs"
</Directory>
And then restart apache so it rebuilds the httpd.conf to include the conf
files.
On my server the command is
/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/websrvmng -v -a
But I have root access and it's a Plesk server (weird control panel stuff),
and of course
the path might be different on your box, so you
might need to talk to your server administrator to figure out how to do it on
yours.
Also if you make any changes to your php.ini you need to restart apache for
them to take effect.
Which is
service httpd restart
good luck,
s.
