Hi,
I'm starting to develop a business (CRM-like, very database centric) application for a customer's Intranet, and I'm exploring Pear. I've coded in PHP for years, already did that kind of stuff, but until now I was avoiding Pear, because I found its OO'ness exagerated.
But well, honestly, Pear offers pretty nice components :) which I'm trying to integrate in a RAD-like development methodology (or laziness, call it what you want ;). I'm currently experiencing with : DataObject_Formbuilder, DB_Pager, Pager, HTML_Table.
The first RAD-unfriendliness that jumps to my eyes is this :
Pager does not generate HTML. I've had enough of HTML ;) What I basically need is a bundle class, which I'd give a SQL query (or table name along with properties, whatever), and this class would turn that into paginated HTML output.
A similar functionality is already achieved for forms by DataObject_Formbuilder. It seems the paging equivalent would be a mix of DB_Pager and Pager, the later being extended with an HTML output feature, which HTML_Table could help to implement.
Or did I miss something, is what I need available in Pear ? Pointers ?
