I've got an app that uses PEAR classes to send multi-part mail messages
based on form input. I have users who have complained that the messages
show up with no date. (This has the side affect of getting flagged by SPAM
filters more frequently). I have confirmed that this is true. When I
simply used PHP's mail() function, I did not have this problem. Here's the
code that I'm using:
$errorstring="";
if (is_array($recipients) == FALSE) {
$recipients = array ($recipients);
}
$crlf = "\r\n";
$from = $from_address . " (" . $from_name . ")";
$hdrs = array();
$hdrs["From"] = $from;
$hdrs["Subject"] = $subject;
$hdrs["Reply-To"] = $from_address;
$smtparray = array();
$smtparray["host"] = 'localhost';
$smtparray["auth"] = FALSE;
$mime = new Mail_mime($crlf);
$mime->setTXTBody($plaintextmessage);
$mime->setHTMLBody($htmlmessage);
$body = $mime->get();
$hdrs = $mime->headers($hdrs);
$mailObj =& Mail::factory('smtp',$smtparray);
$result = $mailObj->send($recipients, $hdrs, $body);
if (PEAR::isError($result)) {
return $result -> getMessage();
} else {
return "Success.";
}
Can anyone see something I've missed that would cause the e-mail to be sent
without a a date header? Here are the versions of the PEAR modules I've got
installed.
