As an experiment, I added the following lines to the Request.php
sources:
if(!extension_loaded('openssl')){
echo "<br><br>you don't have the ssl extension
loaded<br><br>";
}
And sure enough, I get that message, However, my phpinfo() shows that
'--with-ssl' is included in the configure command.
So what goes?
