PEAR install hangs - please help

Well, I go as far as this, following a tutorial in PHPkitchen. But the install hangs at the point cited below. I have to ask - what's the deal here!?? Why no responses to my support requests? why the hanging on install? Can I get help Please. Using win2k and Mozilla 1.8a. Please help.
