I have an account at 1&1 that does not 'support' PEAR. When I run anything with a PEAR function, it returns a function not found error, etc. I especially want to use DB.php - the db connection class. Can I install PEAR on in my own folders (I believe I can)? And how do I set things up in my folders to use PEAR effectively. (I tried to do so by just putting the typical PEAR folder in the main folder, but it did not seem to work properly). Thanks!
ever heard of the pear installer? http://pear.php.net/go-pear save the code and upload it to your webdirectory. first you should create a directory for your PEAR installation as already mentioned in this thread. the installer installs all basepackages. after this you can use the package "PEAR/WebInstaller.php" example: <?
$useDHTML         = true;
// Include WebInstaller require_once("PEAR/WebInstaller.php"); ?> well this is not all. read the manual about installing PEAR on a shared webhost greets Philipp
