Hello *Markuss*, i feel happy about the FormBuilder upgrade saying: *- Added missing code to freeze fields not in userEditableFields (if it exists)* Do you remember me? Do you remember this mail? [...mail skipped...]
you never reply me saying only thanks. it looks your 'ego' capacity is bigger than your gratefulness one. i am not suffered but it's a pitty.... perhaps i would have to post that mail to the list, but it shows me how you deal with those things. the QF client side validation rules code i send you not appear in the changelog or in the rules related code, it may be a useless feature. good luck Markuss.
Dear Alejandro, thank you for your patch. I'm sorry to inform you that it actually never reached my inbox (I just checked), which is the reason you did not receive a reply. I don't know why exactly I didn't get it, but please understand that besides the gazillion of possiblities internet mail transfer provides for itself, I also receive about 400 to 600 mails a day, list traffic *not* included. More than 98% of these mails are spam and/or viruses and get filtered out. It's *very* easy to overlook a mail that somehow ended up in the junk folder but didn't actually belong there. Thus, I hope you will forgive me for not answering. It doesn't really have anything to do with my ego, just bad luck. If you send a patch, and post it to the bug system (which currently is the only "official" way to suggest patches for PEAR packages), it will be reviewed not only by me but by the other FormBuilder devs as well, and if we like it, it will of course be included. Maybe next time when you wish to contribute something, to any package, and don't receive a reply within the next few days, you will simply send another mail and ask if the first one was received - publically bashing someone for something he wasn't even aware of doing (or not doing) is something that could easily be regarded as bad style.
to the list: i'll no longer use FormBuilder anymore but have some code to contribute to the list, and to Markuss ego too. (why not?)
I hope not using FormBuilder anymore is a decision based on bad experience with the package, not with this single incident. If so, I'm happy to hear about the frustrations you had with it, so we can fix it.
is anyone in the list interested in: _ an example of building editable DataGrids using FormBuilder? _ using it with an Smarty FormBuilder-oriented generic form template? _ how to enable QF client-side validation rules to FormBuilder? if so let me know and i'll post it to the list.
All these topics sound fairly interesting, so please go ahead. Regards, Markus
