Pear include path on windows

Hi All This may have been discussed before, ... I am trying to get PEAR working on my dev xp pro machine. And i can't! Whats happening is that it can't find any of the PEAR files even though the include_path is correct. I have tried hardcoding it like so require_once 'hardcodedpath\XML\Parser.php' and it still says that it cant find the file or directory. I have outputted the include_path... $current_path = ini_get("include_path"); printf ($current_path); and the path is correct, so i am totally lost. Help?
