PEAR packageFileManager + SQL updates

Hi,
I need to be able to create update files that will :
- replace Php and other files (rather simple)
- do SQL insert or updates in various databases. Possibly create new tables, etc
I plan to use the PEAR::PackageFileManager to update the files. However, I have no idea for the
updates of the databases.
Do anyone know of such a PEAR or other package in PHP?
Currently, we use PEAR::MDB for db connections (mysql, MSSQL, Oracle).
If I remeber well, MDB has a XML tool to generate databases and SQL scripts, but this only work(ed)
in MySQL. Right?
