Here's what it looks like when I try: $ pear /usr/local/bin/pear: /usr/local/bin/php: No such file or directory /usr/local/bin/pear: exec: /usr/local/bin/php: cannot execute: No such file or directory
it's finding the pear script in /usr/local/bin/pear. The problem is that the pear script can't find php. It's looking for php in /usr/local/bin/php. The question is how did you install pear so that it would look for php in the wrong place? Try "which php" and replace the #!/usr/local/bin/php with what it tells you. That should get you rolling.
