Thanks, > > What's the output of > > pear -V My focus has shifted to the local machine for now. Apparently I had two pear installations that were confusing me.. First the basic installation that came with Mac OS X with the binary /usr/bin/pear And a version I installed myself using go-pear from Safari this install has some more packages. It has the the binary in /Library/WebServer/pear/bin The first gave me the above error but that is already gone since I did lynx -source http://go-pear.org/ | php This backed up the old pear to /usr/local/php/bin/pear_old and installed a new. Now when I do $ pear -V -su: /usr/local/php/bin/pear: No such file or directory Why is it looking in /usr/local/php/bin/pear? I have to do: $ /usr/bin/pear -V PEAR Version: 1.3.3 PHP Version: 4.3.2 Zend Engine Version: 1.3.0 Running on: Darwin Panther.local 7.5.0 Darwin Kernel Version 7.5.0: Thu Aug 5 19:26:16 PDT 2004; root:xnu/xnu-517.7.21.obj~3/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh Now I have to consolididate these two pear installs.. Can I just copy or move the packages installed in /Library/WebServer/pear/PEAR to /usr/lib/php? If I finally have the packages I need working on the local machine with the apps a created can I just copy them to a folder on the remote host and expect them to work or will the difference in the paths give me trouble? I'm a bit confused as you can see... Steven
