Is this really necessary? Shaun was after some advice, not a rant. Shaun - did the host say why they thought Pear Mail was insecure? The only things I can think of are - is they anyone else on the machine who can read your temp file, and would it matter? Is there anything sensitive in the raw post data? Or if you're on Windows, is the SMTP password in your php ini risky? I'm no expert - just guessing here.
