It should be. However, we should eliminate that as a possible problem.
Can you test your service with 0.8.1 using PHP4 and see if the problem
exists there?
I seem to remember seeing that error once before when I had upgrade
between php4 dot releases, it was because my ini file was still loading
extensions that were compiled for an older version.
Another question I have is are you running any PHP accelerators (APC,
Turcke mmCache, Zend Performance Suite, etc) ?
