On several 'stock' installs Mac OS X Server [Panther] I have the following files in /usr/lib/php:
dr-xr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 14 Sep 2003 Archive
dr-xr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 14 Sep 2003 Console
dr-xr-xr-x 13 root wheel 442 14 Sep 2003 PEAR
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 29813 14 Sep 2003 PEAR.php
dr-xr-xr-x 8 root wheel 272 14 Sep 2003 build
dr-xr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 14 Sep 2003 docs
dr-xr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 14 Sep 2003 extensions
and these files in /usr/lib/php/PEAR:
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 6532 14 Sep 2003 Autoloader.php
dr-xr-xr-x 9 root wheel 306 14 Sep 2003 Command
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 10633 14 Sep 2003 Command.php -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 56227 14 Sep 2003 Common.php -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 33876 14 Sep 2003 Config.php -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 11659 14 Sep 2003 Dependency.php
dr-xr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 14 Sep 2003 Frontend
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 31638 14 Sep 2003 Installer.php -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 6466 14 Sep 2003 Packager.php -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 20505 14 Sep 2003 Registry.php -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 13062 14 Sep 2003 Remote.php
When I run a 'naked' pear command, I get:
Warning: main(System.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in Config.php on line 23 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'System.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /usr/lib/php/PEAR/Config.php on line 23
I have a feeling that while PEAR is 'there' it needs to be installed, config'd or initialized somehow. A quick Google took me off in other directions but did not answer the question of how to get it working. Any hints on getting PEAR running on Mac OS X Server [Pather]? Thanks. bw --- Bill Whitacre bw@his.com
