Quickform: fileupload not accepting JPEG despite having rule for array('image/jpeg', 'image/jpg', 'image/gif')

I have a form with file upload. It works when I
upload a *.gif file but NOT a *.jpg file.
Here's the rule in QF:
$form->addRule('filename', 'Must be a jpeg or gif file
format', 'mimetype', array('image/jpeg', 'image/jpg',
'image/gif') );
Any ideas?
