QF Date element with empty date ?

Hi,
I am using the date element on a form that should lead into a DB search.
To do so I setted up the Element like this.
$datesearch = array(
'language' => 'de',
'format' => 'dmY',
'minYear' => "1995",
'maxYear' => date("Y")+5
);
$form->addElement('date','createat','erstellt
am',$datesearch,$classform);
Now I want the user to give the possebility NOT to select a Date so they
search for every element.
Is there a way to give the elements inside the date elemnt a value like --
-- ----.
So its obvious that no date is selected.
