With PHP 4.2.1, does PEAR work out of the box on Windows *without* the user having to add the PEAR directory to his/her include_path as described on http://pear.php.net/manual/en/faq.windows.php ?
I'm sorry I can't test this myself - I'm a Linux user.
The problem is the fact that I've made a program that will be distributed to numerous different systems, and in my mind, it's not user-friendly enough to tell the Windows users to change their include_path just because my program uses PEAR DB.
The way I see it, if PEAR DB is to become the common, standard API for database access in PHP, it's absolutely necessary that all PHP users - including the Windows ones - can just require_once("DB.php") and expect it to work.
