install pear

I am trying to get horde to work and it wants a additional modules in pear. I seem to have pear sort of working, but it seems to be lacking a logging module.... ======================================================== PEAR PEAR - Yes Recent PEAR - Yes Mail::RFC822 - Yes Log - No Make sure you're using a recent version of PEAR which includes the Log class. DB - Yes ===================================================================== I have pear-4.1.0.tar.gz which I downloaded from horde.org, but I don't know how/where to install it. it would certainly be nice to just exec make install! Any advice would be apprciated.
