Need help with sessions and auth!

Hi! Let me start by warning you that Im totally new to PHP(1 week)... :-) But ok, I have spent a few nights watching at the PEAR Auth class, and I finally get it to work. Now I need to implement some sort of session control. I have written a small script from the beginning which used session_start(), but I felt that my solution was too uncertain. The database I am developing will contain personal information, and therefore Im looking for solutions made by people with more experience than me. I have been looking at LiveUser, and it seems pretty good, but maybe it contains more than I need? I only need a way to authenticate users and let them get access to certain pages on the server. So my question is this, should I go through the trouble of learning to use LiveUser, or could someone direct me elsewhere? If LiveUser is the answer, could someone send me a very short script that shows me how to incorporate LiveUser with Auth? regards Torbjørn Amundsen
