setting the sequence number using MDB2

I tried to reset the sequence number of a sequence table to 360, however i created another row and went back to 2. I am trying to make a design change on a table to use sequences instead of autoinc because i would like to use the current insertID as part of a ticket number. I for the life of me cant work out how to get that while inserting therefore i think sequences for this purpose is a goer. The only issue is I'd need to keep the keys the same as what is already there, and will break things if it goes back to 1 :| Let me know.
